This December and in to 2016, Lemonade Gallery present new video and ASMR works by US based digital media artist May Waver. Tipped by Dazed Magazine as one of their "digital artists to keep an eye on", this is May's first UK solo show, incorporating a two week on-site residency in early December.

May Waver’s current video works play with peculiar YouTube genres, like careful How-To videos and ASMR relaxation scenarios, to form sensory experiences and meditations on technology, intimacy, and care.

In only a couple of years, May has developed an impressive body of work and a growing number of fans, followers and co-producers. Her work, whether animated-gifs, videos, dating site interviews or her Etsy store, explores the politics of gender and relationships alongside a quiet personal questioning of self-representation, power and authenticity.

Whilst being utterly contemporary and relevant - May Waver's images manage to tap effortlessly into a poetry, classicism and universal language that speaks of intimacy and distance, love and loneliness, confidence and confusion, community and isolation all at once. She is an increasingly essential voice in a century drowning in information and desperately searching for meaning.
